Flexible Circuit Solutions
Services
At Vulcan Flex we offer a range of value-added services to help you create a more reliable product, while making your flexible circuit procurement experience easier and more cost-effective.
Technical Presentations
A comprehensive technical tutorial on the design, fabrication and assembly of flexible printed circuits and rigid-flex printed circuit boards presented in a seminar format at your facility for any number of engineers, designers, technicians and other interested parties.
Circuit Layout
Generation of conductor patterns into circuit artwork layers, in Gerber (electronic data) format output, from customer specifications. These Gerber files are then ready for CAM (computer aided manufacturing) processing into film tooling.
Producibility Reviews
A review of the customer's design data - Gerber files, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, acceptance requirements and other specifications - from a manufacturing perspective resulting in comments and recommendations designed to increase reliability, producibility and cost effectiveness.
Prototypes
Fabrication of a small number of newly designed flex circuits, to full certification, in a short period of time - typically one to two weeks. This is intended to allow the customer the opportunity to quickly test their system before proceeding to production.
Production
Fabrication of large quantities of mature flex circuits on a customers schedule. This typically involves blanket orders with schedule releases and may include "just in time delivery", "dock-to-stock delivery" and consignment arrangements.
Component Assembly
The addition of electronic components - active or passive - and hardware to the bare flex circuit. Hardware (mounting brackets, screws, flanges, etc.) and passive component items like connectors are often assembled by hand and hand soldered. Active components - especially complex SMT devices like BGAs and QFPs - are assembled in an automated line and wave soldered.
