Londonderry, New Hampshire, February 5, 2013  Vulcan Electric Company, announced today that it has added another critical piece of equipment to support its line of Oversized Flex Circuit products.

Vulcan recently brought on-line a Scannex II Photo Exposure unit with a 42” X 60” bed size (exposure area).  The large bed size will allow Vulcan to perform the photographic exposure process for oversized panels in-house.  Previously the company had been out-sourcing this critical step.  The Scannex II exposes two sides (top and bottom) simultaneously and complements Vulcan’s other equipment designed to produce Oversized Flex products, such as the 72” X 30” dual platen laminating press, various conveyorized wet processing systems, cut sheet roll laminator and oversized silkscreen chase and table.

Oversized Flex Circuits are not only common in wire harness replacement, but also widely used in applications where a large “sheet” of etched circuitry is required – such as reflective elements, antennas and radar communication equipment.

“I am excited about the Scannex, not only the oversize Photo capability we gain, but also the potential to process much of our standard size production, both sides, in one pass!” said Jim Flynn, Manufacturing Manager.  Flynn added, “It will quickly become a work horse around here.”
